Another 53 Lives Again
Just put the body on the frame yesterday. This car is under vin #100. Super nice 53 and will be for sale by the Canadian owner when completed, which will be in a couple of weeks.
More pics to come in a couple of weeks.

You think there's not that many parts until it's you trying to make everything fit!
I just never get enough of these cars. Naked C1's are so sexy.

I should have all of the chrome installed today, along with the wire harness and antenna cable. Lot's of small jobs.

Sweet! Yeah, putting them back together is a pretty quick process, assuming you have everything back from the chrome shop! That was my biggest delay, waiting on chrome.

Just curious Brett, hypothetically speaking, how little of a car can you start with and still have a 53 Corvette?
Lets assume you have a rough original 53 body, with a 53 VIN plate, and a rough but restorable frame. No trim or drivetrain. Lets assume that the VIN on the frame matches the VIN tag.
Is this enough to start with? Can you reconstruct a real 53 Corvette from just these basic parts.
OK, assuming this is enough to make a car, what about the same situation except that the original 53 frame is gone.
I am just wondering where, in your opinion, it stops being a 53 Corvette.

Lots of opinions on the subject. IMO, if you have the ORIGINAL tag and body, you're ok. Frames do rust. Hence, the restoration frame business.
If you have enough money, anything can be restored.
