Default Cheap Wheels For The Body Shop

Before I cart my '65 to the body shop, I want to pull off the knock offs and put on a cheap set of used wheels. What wheels are easy to find and will fit a '65 with 4 wheel discs? Thanks

Its been said here to use the mini donut from a S10 pickup as a spare...so these junkyard wheels should work

maybe, maybe not; they may not clear the C2 calipers, which are larger than later floating calipers

They should clear just fine. I have one of the S-10 mini spares for my C2. Get one from a junk yard and try it on for size. I used mini spares while building my 32 Ford and they worked great.

How "mini" are they? It is a twenty mile drive to the body shop. Would these be safe?

Why not buy wheel dollies? 100.00 from northern or harbor freight. Unless you do not have a set of wheels. S-10 spares will work u can take off the calipers if you need to. I used 14 x 5s on my c1 with trailer tires and it worked well.

yes, just be careful with your braking (not much rubber on the ground..)

Sure they'll be safe...and you'll have another $15K in body work by the time you get to the shop. I wouldn't do it....

I would get some real wheels then you would always have them as a back up. You can possibly cut a deal for wheels with tires already mounted. For the temporary situation in the body shop I think wheel dollies are a great idea....keeps the body techs from running out to pick up lunch at Taco Bell in your car too..

Find a '70s Chevy that had 6" Rallys and go junkyard huntin'. They should clear the calipers AND the fenders with stock-width tires.

Find a set of cheap wheels that fit and flat bed her to the shop.

No driving on junkyard tires for me. Why take a chance?
