Default Corvette Depot (Canada)

Just found out about a Corvette vendor in Ontario, Canada - Corvette Depot...

Anyone have any dealings or knowledge of this vendor... I love Corvette Central, Wilcox, MaryJo and Blue Ribbon but shipping larger items is always really expensive to Canada. Then you have to deal with Canada Customs and or a broker....

http://corvettedepot.ca/index.php?main_page=contact_us

Any info would be greatly appreciated or if someone could recommend another vendor in Canada that would be much appreciated...

Cheers

Ken

First I ever hear of them Ken? Corvette Central runs free shipping specials to Canada sometimes, they also take care of brokerage fees.
I'm lucky, I live 45 min from the NY border, so I just have my stuff shipped to a freight forwarder on the US side and bring it back with me on my frequent trips to our US plant.

Have not heard of them either, I have used Corvette Central, and they do have their own brokers now to Canada, and the shipping rates have become more reasonable now. I have also used Beaky's Corvette Corner in London. He has been around for ever. He is more than reasonable and sometimes cheaper than US catalogue prices in Canadian dollars. If he is still around, he is getting pretty old. Try 519-268-3365.

I have used them and they are excellent. Their prices are very good as well. And it is so nice not to get hit with brokerage fees.

Have not heard of them, If I am not in a rush for parts I use C/C, however their lack of invantory is frustrating. If it's a rush I order through Corvettes and Performance in Buffalo who buy from L/Island. I then drive over to Buffalo, drop the wife off at the mall, pick up the parts, claim them at the boarder.
Opps, pick up the wife. I have never paid anything at the boarder other than tax, and that is rare. Generally once the inspector is aware it is parts for a classic they just send me on my way. Years ago I claimed my complete sidepipe kit and the said "see ya later".

I have fond memories of dealing with Beaky back in the late 70's when I owned my '59 Corvette and then my '63 SWC. That was long before some of today's big names in Vette parts had been established and the internet was still a generation away. Nice guy to deal with. More recently I dropped by to say hello to him on one of my trips home from London after dropping my two sons off at Western (university). Took this photo in June of this year:

I too remember Beakey's from the 70's. I had no idea he was still kicking!
I called Corvette Depot a couple of weeks ago for a small part for the 62 and the girl had to check in the warehouse which took her about 15 minutes....she had to walk somewhere??? Anyway it turned out she didn't have it, but could get it in a week from Corvette America. Seem like they are affiliated with them somehow. Their price was a bit higher and shipping was as well. I went with Wilcox, very fast, although shipping was expensive to me.

There was also a woman in Montreal that I used to deal with, but I forget her name, she's quite well known, maybe Paul knows who I mean.??

She got out of the business several years ago Rob, sold all of her inventory to Maurice Durnin of Durnin's Corvette restoration in Valleyfield.
Maurice's son Patrick posts on here sometimes.
