Guess which racing legend drove my car?

It was an honor, indeed. Dick talked about writing a book; said he would do that when he got old. Only problem is that hasn't happened and he doesn't think it ever will. I don't think so either.
Ray, the flashlight story did come up, but I am not going to make any suggestions to a guy with his credentials. He said he doesn't know how they stayed on, however.
sub006, thanks for sharing the info.
Saint, the car is Laguna Blue, thanks for the compliment.
Sorry for the abbreviated post, but typing with both hands isn't easy, but strap my right arm down, and now I am seriously challenged, and no help from the pain killers.
Dick mentioned a get together coming up with some of his old racing buddies. Just how fun would that be in a room full of famous racers?
I still can't get over what an energetic, friendly, humble man he is. Top that with his experience, racing records and being a good businessman, which he downplays. We talked about the GS90 project. He said he ended up with a small fortune after that. Unfortunately, he said, I started with a large fortune. What a day, one that will not be forgotten.

I was lucky...
enough to meet Dick and have lunch with him at his shop in Burbank about a year ago (thanks to a mutual friend). As others have indicated his stories are legendary. Quite an honor for me and my wife.

Probably not many. My bride is one of the few who can.
In 2006 Dick agreed to re-engineer the steering geometry on my bride's track car, a D&D Grand Sport. The bill for his work included a line item for 9 gallons of gasoline. Yet, when he was done and we got the car back, the tank was near empty! Wonder what happened to those 9 gallons?
Here he is in her car the day we picked it up at his shop:
