Default how to repair shifter 63 swc 4 speed

I could use some help guiding me to link for repair (parts kit) of shifter (at transmission shaft) lever that holds shifter rods. It appears that link shifted partially out causing lockout of 4th gear. All this on a borg warner T 10 made Oct 1962.d Your suggestions always appreciated. Regards, Abe G

Abe, I can't suggest one vendor product over another for you, but this effort is nothing more than a part for part replacement. Someone here should have knowledge of a kit too purchase. Along with that you need the factory Service Manual and basic tools. Have you, or are you inclined too do this yourself? It's not difficult, but you MUST have a floor jack and jack stands. Dennis

I would take the 1963 shifter out and replace it with a HURST shifter

I had my shifter replaced with a Hurst and am happy with it. 63 SWC Muncie transmission was a bear to get in and out of reverse with original GM shifter.

The reproduction '63 T-10 shifters and linkage parts are manufactured by Vette Products of Michigan (www.vetteproducts.net), and they're dead-on.

Default how i fixed problem (temp) on 63 shifter 4th gear lockout

It seems that a pin in the shifter (shifted) moved and caused lockup in 4th gear. Had pin tack welded in place and this fixed the problem. Found out no on e ( that I found) had availale parts, only complete assemblies (at high cost). Hope this helps someone. Regards, Abe G

I contacted Vette Products and they said they have the Hurst kit same as stock (straight lever w/o reverse lock-out) for the T-10. Has anyone used this kit to replace stock shifter and how did it work out? Thanks- lib
