Is anyone running BF Goodrich Radial TAs
The BF Goodrich Radial TA is one of the most popular tires for muscle cars and I've been running them on my Buicks forever. They work great but I know the Corvette is a different animal with the indepent rear. People seem to be running just about everything on their Corvettes, I would like to hear from someone who has experience with the radial TA. I need to buy new tires and this would be my first choice. Thanks for looking.

At one time, John Greenwood used to run his Corvettes on the track using Goodrich TA radials (very successfully I might add). Here's a link to those days:

Been running them on my '71 for years. Nice ride, handles well, very good classic look. Still no comparison to a modern car. (17/18" rim & low profile tire).
Not sure about the looks of raised white letter tires on midyears. Maybe '67 ralleys/TT's/cragers but I've never been a fan of them on knock offs. Just my opinion.

I've been using either BFG Radial T/A's or Touring T/A's since the early 1970's when we put them on this '64. Still have T/A's on my '64 Coupe today.

VERY popular.
PROOF that advertising works.
have a set from '98 on my 72, had then on my 61.
Reading consumer reports for many years, they are low cost, true, but not more than a midling value.
Tires are too important to buy based on ads and popularity. Easy to step up from BFG.
Great for a car u want to sell, however.

Yep, have run them for many years on several vehicles (including all my Corvettes). 62 has 235/60-15's on the rear, and 215/60-15's on the front.
Always found them to be a well balanced tire with little to complain about, but do not excel in any one area either, and provide great mileage.
And yes, BFG is now owned by Michelin.

Melting Slicks
I've run BFG Radial T/A's on a 69 Z28 Camaro, 70 Camaro, 72 Nova SS, 69 435 Corvette, and a 77 Corvette. I never once had a problem. They are great tires and I will use them again in the future without hesitation.

I have them on my 68. I have used them since Greenwood started using them. That is about the only thing our cars have in common. Jerry

Melting Slicks
I have been running them on everything for many years. Michelin owns them now.
They are a mid line tire...but I "never" have a problem with them. They have always balanced great and hold a balance ..
I just took a set off my pickup and mounted another set . Never had a flat in 35K miles. I will say that they usually wear a little faster than the warranty.

I thought about them when I bought tires for our car. However they have lower speed ratings than what I need. I went with Pirellis with the Z rating.

Yep, 245/60 and 255/60 15's unfortunately they are now >10 YO so it's time for an extreme make over. I'm thinking 225/60 15 on Rally's and a Flare-ectomy.

Burning Brakes
Wait!
Seems that all the posts have been positive for this tire. I bought my car with 70's era BFG TA's and replaced them with new BFG TA's. They look great on my chromed wide Rallyes.
BUT, the car seemed a little squirrely to me at high speeds, and I never thought it was the tires until mechron showed me just how much they move laterally upon side pressure to the fenders. They aren't as stiff as, say, Goodyear Eagles, which I heard aren't available anymore.
So I'm learning how to do proper burnouts and will replace with Goodyear or high end Michelins (I had the Pilots on my MBZ 560 SEC). I really liked the BFG's but I think I want a performance tire next.
