Thanks everyone, I have to say this site has been the #1 reason I was able to do everything on the car I've done over the years.
This is my first midyear, so a steep learning curve. Over the last 10 years I've gotten valuable advice on most of the car's systems that needed help... Engine, carb, exhaust, trans, clutch, clutch linkage, rebuilt rear end, rear suspension (those frozen bolts took a few months off my time line in 2002), glass rear spring, carpet, an overheating fix, ride height, some odd tuning issues, kiesler 5-speed conversion, lots of great advice here.
Car was pretty much driving every summer and being fixed every winter, though I lost 2005 summer with the car in the garage all apart with a trans and clutch upgrade gone awry. I put in a keisler 5-speed and a lakewood bellhousing... aligning the bellhousing required a dial indicator setup that I didn't have, and the project stalled out for a bit as I got distracted... the next spring I got mad and took spring break to get it running again.
Sometimes you helped me without knowing as I troll the archives and see someone else has gotten stumped in the same place.
Rick, re: your question, my dad's main connection to the car is me, we have worked on a lot of old iron together over the years (most notably restoring a 1936 john deere model A tractor and a 1951 dodge m37 military power wagon) but I bought the vette as a NOM driver to work on in 1999.
