67 Nose Emblem... wth?
Here's pics of two 67 front emblems I have. Both have the correct part numbers and markings given what I've read.
If you look at the fronts you will see two different reds and worse yet the orange looking one has the chrome filled in under the inner flags.
Any idea which, if either, is really original?

The top one looks like my 66...color and all!!
As for the 'chrome' part on the bottom one, cant you drill a hole and file it it out, if it is correct for your 67?

The top one (with the cut outs under the flags) is the correct configuration. I can't swear about the coloring though. I'm pretty sure that 67 flags used a darker red, but it's a little hard to say if that's the correct shade.
I've never seen a 67 nose emblem like the lower one, with the area below the flags filled in. It could be a repro, or maybe even a strange GM re-issue. The 67 nose flags are very weak in the middle, and tend to break. It may have been some company's attempt to keep them from breaking?
I know of 2 repros. One comes from Trim Parts and is correct as it comes off of GM's molds. The other comes from Fargo, a company that only sells wholesale to vendors, but I have never seen their repro in person.

Thanks. Mine just broke in the middle as I caught a towel on it.
The top one (darker red one) came in a GM box so I believe it's likely original but I'm certainly no expert.
Im going to install it tomorrow unless someone tells me it's not correct. I'm trying my best to keep as much as original as I can.

I don't think the "orange red" was used after the 65 model year. If you consider the color and the detail of the two emblems it's pretty obvious that the one on top, (dark red) is the better reproduction, if not an original. I'm certainly no expert either so I can't attest to its originality.

Several vendors list the 65 red, 66 dark red, and both "orange" red and dark red for the 67. Possibly GM used both during the 67 year. Maybe JohnZ will know the answer?

Just went out in the garage and looked at my '67, which I have had since '71 as the second owner, and has the original nose emblem. It is identical to the first picture above, with dark red and no filled in area below the flag.

I'd guess the orange one is a later issue GM part.
In 1983 I bought "NOS" fender flags for my 62, and the Red, White, Blue bar was painted Red, Black, Blue from the factory.

The originals were like the top one - no chrome fill, and darker red color.
