Default What Dates Have You Found on Large DC Rally Rims

I have just had 5 original rims redone and was going through all the markings.

3 rims 15 X 6 JK over 66 11
1 rim 15 X 6 JK with no sign of any date
1 rim 15 X 6 JK over 67 squiggle (?)

What known large DC rally rim dates are out there? Thanks.

Kirk

There are lots of "DC" dates in '66 and '67; they can't be seen with tires mounted, so they aren't judged.

John, any idea how rims were chosen for cars? If you had an April 67 build vette would rims from late 66's still be around to be mounted? 11/66 to be exact? Did all the rim dates match on a given car?? Just wondering. Thanks.

Nowhere in the production process did anyone pay any attention whatsoever to the dates on any parts. Rally wheels arrived by the thousands, jammed into rail cars herringbone-style from end-to-end and floor-to-ceiling, raw and oiled. They were manually unloaded and hung on a conveyor that took them through a hot degreasing/phosphating/black dip-prime and bake system, then the outboard face was sprayed argent silver and baked again, and that conveyor took them to the "wheel room", where the tires were mounted and balanced, and another roller conveyor took them to the line, where they were installed on the car.

The only "matching" was making sure that all five tires on any car were the same brand and type.

Thanks John, that is exactly the type of information that I wanted.
