harmonic balancer
Just recieved my harmonic balancer for Paragon. (8 inch, non-finned) I assume they come balanced. Am I right? Looks like it's been drilled in three spots by the Mfg. I'd like to paint it right away to avoid surface rust.

You should assume it's been balanced and ready to install. However, you could be assuming wrong. I'd have it checked. It won't cost that much.

Nah, I changed my mind. I probably wouldn't have it checked for balance if it had some balance holes drilled in it. If there were NO signs of a balance job, I'd definitely have it checked.

Tom,
I would refer to the 400 and 454 balancers as being "Offset Balanced" (as opposed to "Neutral Balanced" for all other Chevy applications).
