I reinstalled the stock boot under the leather one to help keep the heat out. I cut it to fit around the shifter mechanism for a better fit. 10 lbs of sh*t in a 5 lb bag.

Actually I read about someone, on some forum, sometime a while back, that did it. No pics though. As a non-invasive mod I think it looks pretty good. As 327Heaven says it's great for a Hurst on Long shifter.

Tom, I wasn't aware that you could buy one, so I had a local upholstery shop make one for me. I've got a little more material on the sides so that I could anchor it with the rubber boot.

they are easy enough to make yourself... i made 3 of them out of leather for a car i owned a while back,,, used one and sold one
Go to a leather shop and purchase the leather,, i used a local shop that did work for saddles
The leather was soft and supple ,, i was lucky because i had an old vinyl boot to use as pattern to cut new leather... i cut it out and my wife sewed it up for me

You Canadians are great guys. Time to pull your Vette out of the garage and clean it up a bit. I found a local shop that's going to make one for me. I appreciate all your help very much.
