Default Radiator Support

Hey Guys, it's been a few days.....miss me Okay, I really need help finding out what my 1960 radiator support with aluminum top tank should look like.
I'm afraid mine has been modified in some way with a bad weld job.
Is there a web site or pictures in a book somewhere of the correct one? I can look in the suppliers web sites and they don't give enough detailed picture. I've bought every manual that everyone's suggested but they don't show what I need on this.
Help appreciated

I can't help you, but perhaps I can help get the question made clearer.

I thought the radiator tank was on the radiator, not the radiator support. So which part are you asking about?

Or was the radiator support different for radiators with top tanks? My C1 is a 62 which didn't have the top tank so I may be asking questions that are obvious to owners of 1960 models.

Hey thanks for at least responding I think the 60 top tank was completley different from the 62.
In corvette central, it shows the support, but I need to see the back side of it. Mine has been welded I'm afraid.

Hi, you still aren't being clear, but I think what you are trying to say is that the core supports for a car with a top-tank radiator, was different from the core support for a car without a top-tank radiator.

Yes, it is. The top of the radiator support for a car with the top-tank radiator is offset forward to clear the front of the tank; the top of the support for a car with the radiator without the top-tank is pretty much straight across. If you look CLOSELY at the two supports in the photos below, you'll see the offsets at the ends of the top panel on the one on the right (for a top-tank aluminum radiator, third photo).

Okay....now we are getting somewhere
John, at the very bottom of the support where the two bolts are ON THE INSIDE OF IT...ON THE BOTTOM, there looks like there has been a torch used.
I know this is the original support, but I don't know if someone has welded something in there or did it come that way. It's just jagged like something was put in there or ???????.
Anyway, can you tell me something on this?
Thanks a million in advance

There's a reinforcement in the bottom of the support with bend-over tabs to retain the heads of the two carriage bolts that stick out the bottom (front body mounting). Bubba may have chopped it up to replace the bolts.

Yup, looks like a fairly common rust-out repair - the lower channel on the supports was a natural water trap, and many of them required either repair or replacement. Should have been designed with a couple of drain holes.
