Default Shipping A Vette

I am looking to ship a 66 almost from coast to coast. (from PA to MT) Does anyone have any recomendations or experiences with good companies, or companies to stay away from?

Thanks for looking,

I have had several streetrods shipped and used the Fedex without a problem. I had the drivers cell phone number and gave me updates on a regular bases.

Here is the pic of the transport...

I used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS), 866-298-4221; no problems.

I have no personal experience with them but I would not use DAS.
I have read of a number of bad experiences with them on this forum.
Try a search.

DAS shipped a car for me and it was not a door to door (I should have done more research before hand) - the car sat outside for 3 days at a terminal waiting for truck to arrive and move it to a terminal where I had to pick it up. They were the reccomended carrier by eBay at one time and had lots of business, but not all positive end results.

Try calling Mike McKim - 213-925-7649 - he's movinmg my 64 (again) and did Ken Smith's 65. He's one of the best.

and here's a link (posted today) on the topic of DAS in CFOT - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2010336

Hi Jibb, I recently shipped a 61' resto-vette from Las Vegas to NY. I used Horseless Carriages and could not be more pleased with there service. If anyone needs to store a car for a short time in Vegas try Classic&Collectible Cars, great people. Good luck!

I can only say that Intercity did a great job for me, very well known, reliable and easy to deal with. Most mentioned above probably fit the same description also. Intercity was great for me...

I only had the one experience with them back in 2002 and like I said door to door and no problems. I could have been lucky. As someone else posted they were the preferred Ebay vendor back then which I where I got the name.

Thanks for looking,
Email/contact BigDave33. He bought my 67 in Nov 05 and had it shipped from RI to Seattle. I recall him being happy with his transporter.

I used Horseless Carriage back in November from NY to SC. You can find a lot of reviews, both the good and the bad, here...

Good Luck!
