'60 vette barn find under 10 miles from home
I just typed a book about this car on this #$$% computer, loaded the pictures went to preview the post and got a blank screen. Not doing it again, so here is the short version. Heard about this car that was in an abandoned garage, spent 4 years trying to locate it and another 3 to finally get it. Car was about 7-8 miles from my house. Car is a complete '60 two top car that has the wrong engine, but was a 270 HP 4 speed. It still has most all the original parts including jack and tools, wonderbar, hard and soft tops. The car was last registered in 1978. A couple days after we brought it home we lifted it off the chassis and bolted it to a restored chassis and we drove it that same day in the driveway. For now I'm gonna put it back together and drive it as a beater. Here are some photos.

Why the chassis swap? Rot?, looks like it in front of the rear wheel on the second picture. Interior looks like the car spent a lot of time wet, what on earth happened to the steering wheel?
What is the story, why parked, etc?
Did you originally bring it home it two years ago? Looking at the picture date. Or was that when you first started negotiating?
Nice find, it looks like you are building a sequential collection of C1 cars, now just gotta work on the 59 and down.

Yes there was Scotty,I was refreshing that part of the story earlier today when I put the photos on photobucket and one finger typed the entire story for about 50 minutes and then proceded to preview the post and got a blank page. After some choice words, I just put this info and some new photos of the car after it came out of the garage. And yes,the neighbors parked a honda partially in the garage in bad weather. They also cut the grass so the place didn't look like a total dump.

That is a great find It cleaned up well. I like your idea of driving it as is. Solid axles in any condition are real attention grabbers and alot of fun to drive. Now I want to find one like that.
