Default Maui Car Show

This afternoon there is a car show in Kahului, Maui, Hawai'i. I'm going to attend to see if there really are any "classic" Corvettes on this island.

Keep us informed. I have a condo on Kauai and would love to know about car shows there. Ask if there are any on Kauai in the summer since I will be there for the month of July

Jack, nice place to be in March - years ago we flew to Maui, got married on Kaanapali beach, and honeymooned at the Hyatt Regency for a couple of weeks; we've been back every five years since on our anniversary.

Default 2000 was my year to shine.

I won a Chicago radio contest and spent 7 days in Waillea free of charge. I'd go back there in a heartbeat!

We had blown our "25th Anniv. Hawaii Fund" on the daughter's wedding a few years before, so the timing was great.

Plus, I got a lot of brownie points from the Mrs.

Well, the Maui car show was quite a surprise. Lots of cool cars from a '41 Ford "Woodie" in very nice condition, many hot rods, 3 Ferraris, 2 Panteras and the eight Corvettes I'm posting below. Be patient, I'm gonna have to do this one at a time. . .
[IMG][/IMG]
This car is "one of our own," Vettepoor is his CF handle, a refugee from the Colorado winters.
The next two would cause my NCRS buddies to "go postal!"
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
Two nice '64 roadsters. . . the first one is Daytona blue, the other black.
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
A red '59 or '60. . .[IMG][/IMG]
A very nice BB '65. . .
[IMG][/IMG]
And finally, a heavily modified "scissors" door 2000 coupe.[IMG][/IMG]
None of these eight 'Vettes could be considered "NCRS correct" but so what? Each was an expression of the owner's preferences which is what most all of us want, que' no? I had fun and, as you might expect, enjoyed jawin' with a bunch of "car guys", Corvette owners or not.
Aloha nui!
Jack

Don,
Asking guys on Maui about a car show on Kaui, which as you probably are aware is at the extreme north west end of the state, is problematical (I hate that word!) and so I got only blank looks.
Sorry. . .

Jack,
Kinda thought that would be the case since I have only seen newer vette on the island. Perhaps I'll take my 65 Roadster over and start a one man show!!
