Just got my engine in and running..still a work in progress..had to modify the hood..I know that some purist will not like it but had to keep the rain out somehow..

468 CID 4 bolt forged and balance bottom end with some pop up pistons.. we took 20 of the deck and with the small chamber heads it has some decent cylinder pressure..it has a 600 lift hydraulic cam with roller rockers and about 240 degrees of duration at 50..has a very nasty idle. motor should pull hard to about 6500 rpm.. the goal was to be quicker that a new C6. I have about 40 miles on the motor..once its broken in I will hook the NOS up. I have a 150 shot for the top end.

I was so tired of the "hey nice car" followed by the "owe...small block" besides the car is coded big block

I couldn't really see it well, but are you using rubber hose from the fuel pump to the carb?

While many will undoubtedly disagree, IMHO a metal line on the pressure side of the fuel pump (as originally equipped by Chevrolet) greatly reduces the risk of fire.

Good point Mike! I missed that. A local Corvette restorer told me that you should never have a rubber fuel line more than 4 inches long. He said that it's asking for trouble.

I never had a person ever disapointingly say "oh, small block" to me when driving a midyear.

Where exactly is it "coded" a big block?

There are a group of suffixes that were attached to the build sheet info for the car and contained the info that was not included on the ID tag. So based on the build sheet that came with the car...I say its coded big block......Build sheet shows the VIN and the 427 Suffix..Thats what lead me to this conclusion

Could you post a photo or scan of that document? I'd like to see it.

I have two air cleaners..... for my car. When I want to run the hillborn scoop... I just take the hood off. Got it down to about 4-minutes!

Sometimes it's just fun to break out of the mold! Your car is awesome!!!
