2 probs: unintended honk & directional switch
need some help gents (and ladies). The problems are on my late production 63.
1. Horn. When turning, if I push on the steering wheel, the horn honks. It doesn't do it when going straight. What is the remedy?
2. Directional. The turn signal switch stays on too well when going right (it doesn't cancel when I turn the wheel) and doesn't stay on at all when going left (it cancels as soon as I release the lever). Is there a quick fix for this?
Many thanks!

1) My 65 had this problem with the horn. I ordered a new horn button/contact assembly (about 2" in diameter with the little metal leg to contact the horn wire). when the new assembly arrived I compared it to the old and realized the old assembly was wrong, and was always on the verge of blowing the horn due to the overly long metal leg on it.
2) Sounds like the canceling cam is not working. Mounts on the back of the steering wheel hub, at least on my 65.
Might as well pull the wheel/hub assembly and see what both parts look like, see if they need replacing.

Horn problem
I had sort of the same problem, I have a '64, My problem was I had too much spring travel for the bottom bearing. It made the steering wheel move up or down too much. Too much over all play. I loosened up the clamp [for the bottom bearing] and moved the clamp towards the steering wheel. Another words I put more spring pressure on the bottom column bearing. This clamp is about 2 1/4 " away from the rag coupling under the hood. If there is too much up or down travel of the steering wheel it makes the horn contact touch. Try it and see if this is your problem. Scribe a line on the center solid shaft for future reference in case the clamp works loose in the future. Mine had the original clamp , when I retightened it ,it broke, which is no big deal because it slides over the solid shaft when the bolt and nut is off . The original one must have had a crack in it. , check yours out for cracks also.

Horn
Your bearing in the steering column, just under the horn butoon is worn out. This is why your horn is blowning at times.
Your turn signals have a bad cancelling cam. Paragon has them for 65-70 dollars. The bearing is right there also.
When you are changing out your bearing, the cam is right there also. Do both at the same time. Piece of cake.

horn problem
When I changed my turn signal switch the upper bearing came with it [ it is all one piece on a C-2] BTW when I bought my new switch Long Island Corvette Supply had the best price, better than Advance Auto Parts and NAPA. When my horn was blowing on its own, it was after I changed the turn signal switch , after I had my whole column out to change the bottom bearing , I had it back on the road , I thought I was done with that project.
