G.M. Holley Carburetor #3124 question
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a difference between the G.M. Holley 780 carb list #3124 for the 396/425 corvette, and the G.M.Holley, 780 list #3310 for the 1965 chevelle, Z16, 396/425? Besides the list numbers being differant, the carburetors appears to look identical?
I know they also have different stamping numbers on the metering blocks and horn but to me thats about the only difference? I have a rebuilt # 3310 that I would like to use on my car but do not have the $1200.00 on a #3124 that they commend! I'm not a numbers guy, just as long as it looks the same and performs the same! Any help on this question would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.....Joe

The 3124 has a hot-air choke arrangement with tubes from the RH exhaust manifold; don't know offhand what the original 3310 for the Z-16 had for a choke setup. The original 3310 for the Z-16 Chevelle (its only production application, ever) was probably configured differently than the hundreds of thousands of -1, -2, -3, and -4 3310's that were sold over the counter for decades at speed shops. If you go to the Holley site and click on "carburetor numerical listing", the chart will show you the detail differences between the 3124 and the 3310.
