Iv'e seen pictures of Hendrix in several C3's but never a C2. He didn't get famous until 67 and after that I'm sure he wasn't driving "used cars" so I doubt if he ever drove anything older then a 67. From what I have heard he went thru cars like he went thru stratocasters, he had a different one every time he showed up.

This is a bit strange- I mean Elvises' Cadillacs are well known... Why not Jimmi's Corvette (s) ?

I don't think Jimi's fans (well, this one anyway) cared about his lifestyle. It didn't matter what he kind of car drove or what his favorite sandwich was. Only his music mattered - and boy, did it matter!

He had a few Corvettes. Seems the problem was the he was a lousy driver, had very poor vision, went too fast, and kept crashing them. I have a pic of him in a '69. I doubt that any of them are still are around. Maybe ask Paul Allen (Microsoft fame) or shoot an email at Experience Music staff. Maybe they would know if any of his Corvettes are still around. BTW, Paul Allen has a vast collection of Jimi's stuff in the Experience Music site here in Seattle. Paul Allen is a HUGE fan of Jimi's and plays a little guitar himself. He is also a collector of some very rare WWII aircraft, owns the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers. He owns a lot of property in the South Lake Union area of Seattle and by the time he passes on, history will show that he may have done as much as anyone to leave a imprint on Seattle.

He was fascinated with the hide away wipers on this car he had to have it fixed several times as a result of showing it to his friends
I too am a fan No one like him since or later

427-390, would be great if you could scan and post that. Where did you get or take that picture?

JKUZZY,I was 16 years old and there will never be anything like that again...the Who and Janis Joplin were simply fantastic plus Jimmy and all the other rock groups.Woodstock changed the music area.Peace Love& Happiness that was the motto.I went with 8 other people and we still talk about it to this day. I was there too and I even remember it too without brain damage! The rain, the storm, Hendrix closing the show at dawn on Monday morning with his fabulous rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. It still gives me goosebumps. My wife calls my Black 69, my Woodstock car. Although it was not really there with me. I only lived 25 or so miles away in Middletown, NY. I had my MGB parked just above the Hells Angels, facing up the hill alongside the field where the helicopters landed when they brought in the bands. It was a great spot, with a view of the stage and the entertainers landing. I also had “shelter from the storm”. Until.
A wacked out employee of the Joshua Light Show backed over a couple of the Hells Angels putt putts and kept going until he crashed into my MGB almost crushing my legs. I joined them chasing him and the crowd was actually chanting “lynch him” because he was so wreckless. Lucky for him a couple of NY’s finest Smokey Bears defused the situation and I got his license info and the rental agreement info. Eventually I got zinch because it was a sleezy small rental car that hit me and the driver went back to Kalifornia. I still had a great time.

PS I’m glad it was not my Woodstock Car.

Here's a music video that shows Jimi driving a silver C3 pretty hard around a corner - the car footage appears 2/3rds of the way through the video:
