The fastback coupe shown is the Corvair. The Aux Hardtop (complete with roll-up windows) and the Nomad joined the Corvair at the '54 Motorama as Chevy's Corvette based concepts for that year...
Cannot remember where I have the pictures, but maybe someone else does of Tom Armstrong's 54 Corvette Nomad. It is a beautiful car, with 87 Corvette suspension and a 32 valve ZR-1 motor. Very nice.

I still think the Corvair would look better with the 56-60 taillights rather than the 53-55 pods. With those taillights and that license opening, the back looks sort of like the head of a mutated catfish. Just needs some curb feelers for whiskers.
I took that shot at Carlisle in 1984. Needless to say, the car attracted a lot of people. I can't remember what the frame was now. You notice it is longer than a stock Corvette, but I can't remember if it was simply stretched or they used a large Chevy frame.
The rear window was a Pacer window. It also had a back seat. If only they had digital back then, I'd have take a dozen shots, but since I only had a couple of rolls of film, I was saving it for better stuff that weekend.
