BJ Lawsuit Settled

Yes I believe he was short gaveled. I believe that there are favorite friends and clients that they keep happy whether they are buying or selling. I also believe that if someone is "difficult" to deal with prior to the auction, a quick gavel will fall. It is human nature. Folks take care of friends and family.
Not saying this guy was difficult by anyone's standards but maybe it was perceived that way.
On another note, back a few years ago when there were still reserves allowed. There was always an assistant standing with the seller working him to lower the reserve the minute the vehicle was up on the block.

I didnt see any of this cars auction, but I have watched what I will call a long gavel at BJ, where they are working it and working it and working it somemore. The last Stingray certainly got that treatment.

It's not at all uncommon for judges to have been in private practice before taking the bench. He could have become wealthy that way. Maybe he's from a wealthy family. Judges are paid pretty well anyway...maybe he made some good investments. Who knows?

I THINK the show that will include this event is the 2 pm CST airing of "Barrett-Jackson: Life on the Block" on this Sunday on SPEED. This episode is called "One of a kind cars" and I believe that is the one that addressed the whole issue.
