Default Got my first midyear today. I can hardly breathe!

As per most of my last few posts I have been looking for a project midyear. Found one in Florida , North Carolina , Washington State etc.etc.
I was always one buyer too late.
Well..........
Sometimes you find just what you are looking for in your back yard!
Talk to a friend who new a neighbor that had a 66 Vert. He had tried to sell last year then decided to keep it. I guess I caught him at the right moment. 1 hour drive from home and this gentleman has owned the car 28 years.
Frame is flawless, birdcage is as well. New winshield and a new top. Needs interior, gages and a couple of switches. All of the parts are with it and all of the chrome is without any pits. 327 engine and 4 speed.
When I went to pick it up today the clutch was stuck so we rocked the car to free it up.
It was raining and it had no wipers (a working motor but no wiper arms).
I took paper towels and wiped the windshiled as I drove the 15 miles to a temporary storage area.
It was the most fun 15 miles I ever drove!
I know I have my work cut out for me but I have restored a couple of C3's from basket cases so this will be fun.

Have fiberglass.....will travel.

The car was a little dirty (alot dirty) so I took the wet paper towel "wipers" and wiped some of the dirt off.
The paint actually looked good under the dirt but the fenders flares are going to have to go.
I was so excited I had to post the pics even with the car condition.

Way to go!!!

Unless you're looking for an original, stock factory look... I'd leave the flares on for awhile... you've got plenty of room there to try some really unique, different wheel, tire combinations... You might like the look.

Cleaning up is the best part! Congrats. I have had mine for about 15 months now and I still go out in the garage and sit in it almost every night.
Throw a couple of coats of Zaino on that paint and you are all set! Let the fun begin!

What fun! get it squared away mechanically and drive it like that. I'd add bumpers and cruise like that for now.

i just finished a 3 year frame off resto of a 66 vert and the C2 forum is what made it possible.........
dont worry about asking what might seem like silly questions........ i already asked stupider ones.......... and got answers to boot.......

Nice find. I agree - jettison the flares. They always look way overdone to me on mid-years.
