Do you like your monospring?
Im installing new offset trailing arms on my 65. My spring is original and not in excellent shape. I was thinking about buying a monospring instead of rebuilding my original. If you have one, do you like it?

Hello
I had a friend that had one and he liked it up to the point before it broke then did damage to his car and quarter panel
I always liked the steel spring I feel "safer" with it no ym car..But to each his or her own..
Monospring suppose to give a better ride that a steel spring..

No problems with mine. A 330 and just right for normal cruising.
Here's a VBP 330 we put on a 1979 about six weeks ago. Just use the appropriate heat shielding and all will be OK.

Yes!!! I don't understand why everyone isn't using them ( except for the NCRS guys). I have it and think the ride is greatly improved. I won't change back. As often mentioned before...NCRS..."Not Correctly Restored Stingray". Keep it as original looking as possible, but if you can make it safer and faster, but still keeping the look...what the heck.

Mono spring
I am very happy with mine. I shopped around and talked to a few different vendors. I was very pleased with the service that VBP provided. I think I spoke with Patty? Very happy with the product and I am sure that I will order from them again even if they are not the cheapest. Service does have a price.

A source I trust indicated that they had problems getting weight transfer using composite springs, but they were into some serious quarter mile efforts that we wouldn't normally attempt. If this were not the case, you could bet that the lighter weight of the springs themselves would be enough to make these guys use them.

If you are going to drive your ca,r do yourself a favor and upgrade the ride to a VBP spring. I put 44,000 miles on my 72 with the composit spring (300#) and I like it much better than my 65 with the buckboard ride of the stock steel spring

I put off set T-arms, VBP adjustable strut rods and a TRW spring in my 63 last Summer. I think it rides much smoother and is more compliant in corners, though that is just street driving. Its hard to beat the weight savings and ease of installation.

I put a VBP 300# spring in my `65 and it was a big improvement over the stock spring (std susp). More compliant ride, less squat on accelleration, and less lean in the corners. The downside was more bounce over bumps. IMO, the upside outweighs the downside.

Did you put the recommended rear gas shocks on and do you think going to a 315# or 330# spring would of helped the bounce problem?

I used the regular KYB's instead of the recommended (and cheaper) ones. I was looking for a more compliant ride so I chose the lighter spring. I was happy with the choice. There have been numerous discussions here about plastic springs and the bounce issue seems to be common regardless of the brand or spring rate.
