I guess no takers at Carlisle. This car is torn up pretty bad:

This one looks like a deal for someone who wants to build a 62:

Seems like a lot of the parts are there to build the car. They should have posted some pictures of the frame.

I saw the first one at Carlisle - he wanted $40K for it, got lots of laughs, then "reduced" his asking price to $39,999 Another dreamer with B-Jitis.

My space was across from that last weekend. Didn't see much attention to it. I thought I saw a $40k price as well. There was a green 69 L88 parked there on Saturday looked pretty nice.

You DID see a $40k price tag on it. If I knew how to post pictures, I could put one up here.

You guys laugh, but if you buy the perfect one for $90,000, or the wreck for $40,000 and put $40,000 into it, which way is better?
(BTW, you know the "perfect" one was probably a wreck 10 or 20 years ago.)

Believe me... the pictures shown ...really...And I really do mean ..really do not show the extent of the damage....

Of course, maybe you did me a favor after seeing those storm pictures.
I trust you were out of there before that happened. Monica asked if I thought you got caught in it. As unappreciative as she is with Corvettes, she really was upset at the pictures.

We spoke with the owner of that car at Carlisle, he said the insurance paid in the $75k range to the owner....he bought it from the insurance company. A lot of little (expensive) things were missing from the car.
Heard he turned down $20k at Carlisle on thursday...wonder what his highest bid was....

that thing doesnt have one straight corner on it. I dont care how much money was put in it, its a project car now.
The other one said it was number 53 made. shrug, just caught my attention but hey, its a project car too. I hope at 40 grand, everyone laughed in their faces.

WOW...nobody snapped that gem up for only $40K?? Sorry to say but even when that car is put back together it won't be worth much more than $40K with a salvage title.

and I have to agree with one point, with a Salvage Title, this ain't ever going to be a high end car again, no matter how much $$ you poured into it.

Let's see, he got a settlement in the $75K range, bought it back and now wants to flip it for $40K? Plus possibly sell the missing (expensive) parts?
However I do agree with one thing you said in this thread, jackster, with a salvage title it ain't ever gonna be a high end car again...

Yep, that sounds like it might be our supposed "agreed value" policy all right....however, I think I might be able to get a few more details about how the claim was settled if you like, jackster...I might even know about it already but if I did reveal any details it just might spoil some of the State Farm bashers ideas of how we are out to screw our clients out of that which they contracted for and on which we delivered.
