I bought this car about a month ago, Still not sure what to do with it. Restore to NCRS (Not sure if I can afford this) or just paint everything pretty and drive it. It's a 59,000 all original numbers matching 365HP 327 4-sp,4:11 rear with PW,PB,back-up lights, both tops and a set of four Kelsey Hayes Knock-Off wheels. Color is Daytona blue with silver interior. I have some paper work including the originals owners’ card. It is in very much need of a paint job as the top side of the car is all spider webbed. I didn't see any rust other then surface stuff and the carpet seems faded. I bought this car in the very low 30's and was also wondering if I did ok on the price as I am not an expert on corvette pricing. This is all so my first time posting pictures so I thought I would give it a try. Positive or negative feedback is welcome. Don

I would start by putting the air cleaner on the correct way and putting the washer bucket back in the correct place.

I did turn the air cleaner around but I didn't realize the window washer container was installed wrong. I will have to look this up when I get home. It also has the wrong oil filler tube and cap.

Looks like it could be a survivor. I'm all for doing what you want to your car. Heck, I did it to my '64. But mine had virtuality no original parts on it whan I got it 23 years ago, so it was no big deal to make it "nice."

From the photos, you could have many, many original parts and it would be a shame to not see it simply cleaned and restored as original. Especially with such a unique blend of options and colors.

Besides, you have to do a whole lot to an unoriginal '64 to get it anywhere near the value of an original '64.

First thing to do is let NCRS look at it. If it is a survivor, I would bet that you could trade it (maybe even straight across) for a really nice driver if that's what you are looking for.

Great to see another 64 surviving out there.
I really like the color combo and I don't think I have ever seen one quite like it.
My vote is to change the hoses, fluids, brakes, and drive the heck out of it.

YUM, YUM...love the color combo. Some minor detailing needed, BUT drive and enjoy!!!! IMHO, I'm a sucker for red line tires on a dark colored car.

Looks like a nice solid 64. If you're thinking about NCRS, you may want to attend the next event that is close to you and speak to some judges to see what it would take to bring it up to NCRS standards. Then again, if it becomes an NCRS judged Vette, you maybe too afraid to drive...

If it were me, drive it the way it is and enjoy it. Take on projects over the winter time (if you have a son, it would make for a great father/son project).

Be forewarned that if you go the restoration route the NCRS Judging Guide for the 64 has dozens of errors in it.

BTW, the 327-365 is my all-time favorite Corvette engine. I hope to have one some day.

That is a great point. I see some amazing rides on this website, but I would be afraid to drive quite a few. I like having no worries.

Thanks for all the comments, What I thought was neat about this car was that everything works even the clock. It runs great also. My thought right now is to have some one in the know look at the car and give me suggestions on what to do with it. If it truly is that original I would hate to mess it up. I have a 67 BB car that is nice but not as original as this car, so I would have something to drive. I know it sounds funny but I like working on them just as much as driving them it not more.

Bring it to a local chapter event as is and get it judged...you most likely have a survivor car and it would be a great baseline.... This would help you decide the direction to go...

That car could sit in my garage from now on with just a little detail cleanup. Good looker. According to what I've been hearig, you came out okay on the price.

That car looks good enough to leave as is. If you did a top notch restoration on it and spent $30-$40k on it, you be upside down.

I also have a '64 365 with a 4 speed....changed the exhaust to side pipes and the whole car came alive. It used to have a hard time running until it was warm and while it would scoot, it never really got up and went. After the side exhaust all that changed.......starts right up and idles right away, and it really goes....you won't regret the side exhaust.....and then maybe some bolt on knock offs....

Obviously, I'm a proponent of '64's.

Looks like a great driver, and potentially down the road, a restoration or "survivor" status ride.

I'd enjoy it now, with fluid/filters/hose replacement, etc., as others have suggested.

Live for today. Tomorrow is in the future, and who knows what that will bring, so go for it now.

A matching # 365hp with 59k miles and p/b and p/w in a great color combo for the low 30's. I think you stole the car. The knock-off's alone are worth at least 4 grand. With that color combo,a set of Diamondback goldlines or redlines would really look good. Does the motor still have the solid lift cam and 2818 carb. Great car..... congratulations!
