Also, are all four edges of the underside hood painted? - not just the sides?
Want to be 100% sure when I approach the painter, he didn't think this was correct during our conversation this AM.
TIA

Car is finally in the body shop, can anyone (especially John Z) confirm the underhood lip paint mentioned is correct for a 65 BB hood?
Also, are all four edges of the underside hood painted? - not just the sides?

Yes, that treatment is correct for ALL midyear hoods. There's very little blackout on the bottom of the front lip on an original car (or body color, for that matter), as the car was painted with the hood installed and the radiator support was in the way of a direct spray path.
The clarification is much appreciated.

So a green car... Under the hood, Outer edge is green on all four sides with black on center of hood or green on 3 sides with blank all way to edge on front edge near bumper?

A suggestion only and what I'm going to do with my restoration. I am going to use a flat black epoxy primer on the underside of my hood so that if there is any contaminant that gets on the underside of the hood, it won't percolate through the glass and destroy the paint. The reason for my concern is that I have factory air and the mineral oil can wick through the hood and wipe out the paint. I will be using PPG DP low VOC .My $.02.
