Default Show your engine

Since I decided to upgrade my car and build a new upgraded high HP engine, I have been confronted with the constant need to make decisions such as which fuel line to use, which fuel pump, which intake, which fuel pressure regulator, carburetor, radiator, oil pan, air filter, etc. and picture in my mind how it will look after completed......

My idea here is to get everybody that has done something similar to share some pictures of the final product or even the process and, if inspired to write, tell us what parts and brands were chosen for the project and the reason why.....

Thanks and hope to see your project here.

My Idea? Upgrade the motor- yet to the casual observer make it look stock.

It's a warmed over 327 w/ Brodix Track 1 Alum heads. Hyd Roller cam and roller rockers -all hidden underneath the stock valve covers. I went w/ a Speed Demon 575 Mech carb w/Edelbrock Performer RPM intake (punched a hole for the oil fill) and MSD ignition (stock dist w/ Petronix Igniter II and a MSD 6 box hidden behind the glovebox..

I did go w/ a Carter elec fuel pump w/ a built in regulator.

To cool it I went w/ a Griffith thicker than stock alum radiator.

Wtih the ignition shield on you don't see the coil- I could paint it black...

I love it !!!
This is exactly what I plan on doing. Although I was planning on stroking it to 383. I might be emailing you in the future with questions. I was wondering what it would look like if you didn't paint the aluminum heads. Now I know. Still not sure if I'll be painting them or not. Nice Engine! What Kind of HP do you think your at?

Now if we can only figure out how to get some axles under it and a transmission hooked up..........

Jay Leno's car wouldn't hold a candle to it!

Keep it all original Corvette! This is an optional COPO engine for 59!

She might not look pretty, but she still runs (at least once I get that heater core and the rest of the heating components back in)...

Nothing too crazy. Just different pistons and cam. I believe the valves are bigger than stock too. Not too sure what the stock size valves were.

Since it's a 327 w/ small journals- stroking it would have been a lot of work (and money) at the machine shop. I'm running the stock 2½ exhaust manifolds -grinded out to match the d port heads w/ sidepipes. I would guess around mid 300's as far as HP. I am seeing about 17mpg w/ 3.55 gears w/ pump gas and no pinging.
I just have a tough time putting paint on expensive aluminum and it really is not that noticeable.

My C3 project in the works (original BB car-but motor is LONG gone) is getting a warmed over ZZ502 - made up to like a stock LS-5. Orange paint and stock ignition shielding over the HEI.

65 with 6-71 blown 433. I was shooting for a nostalgic hot rod look.
