I'm running a Super T-10 in my 66 coupe and have never had any problems (whatsoever) with it. It is a well built transmission (if you were to ask me)...

Very common problem in the day with T10s. Don't know about Super T10s. Usual repair in the day was to replace it with a Muncie.
If you do replace it with a Muncie, you'll need a new clutch disc, a new driveshaft yoke, and maybe a new speedometer cable. You would probably replace the clutch disc anyway. But the yoke is expensive. Your existing shifter will fit both transmissions. Not sure, but I believe 2 of the 3 rods will also fit. You may need to buy the reverse rod.
Reason I mention this is that in the day people often replaced the BW T10 with a Muncie. The Muncie was considered a stronger transmission. But there were plenty of cheap parts around then. Not so now. If you decide to go to a Muncie, make sure you price everything.

I switched from a muncie to a super T10. Linkages are not exact, I had to remove the backup switch. Can’t be happier with the change. It sounds like your 2nd/4th shifter linkage needs to be adjusted.
