Default Difference between 327 clutch and 427 clutch??

Ok, according to the centerforce webpage there is no difference in the spline number or spacing for a 327 and a 427 clutch-transmissions output shafts were the same i suppose- 1-1/8" spacing and 10 splines.
So, could i use the 11" clutch listed for the 427 for 67 on this page or not??
I have the larger bellhousing and an aluminum flywheel that will accomodate either the 10.4" or 11" clutch. Just figured while i was spending money i would go with the 11" if it will work.
Thanks and sorry for the semi-repeat post.

Yes, you can use the big block clutch and flywheel. The big and small block clutches are the same (with exception to externally balanced motors ---400 sbc and 454 bbc--- which used a different flywheel) and are inter-changeable as long as you have the larger bell housing and correct spline count on the disc. The one thing you may want to check is the tooth count number 153 or 168 on your new flywheel and ensure your starter will work. Most after market mini starters will accommodate both 153 and 168 tooth flywheels while factory versions may not.

I put an 11 inch on the 350 that I replaced the original 427 with. I got a flywheel and clutch housing out of a junk yard SS 350 Nova - so I know they came from the factory with that set up.

The starter is easy to change the nose piece on. If you can't get a nose piece off a dead core at a junk yard, Oreilly Auto parts will sell you a heavy duty GM rebuit with a new soleniod (get the large, nonMetric solenoid), and you can bag your original or use it for a core charge.

Ok, just bought the centerforce part number DF735552 clutch kit on ebay for 250.00. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. I have a 168 tooth flywheel. Now i just need to pull the big bellhousing out of the closet, blast it, and powdercoat it. As far as the starter is concerned, i am actually planning on buying a ministarter. So, thanks to y'alls help I should be good to go. Ha, right, i will be back on here in two days asking a question about something.

All that matters is that you get the correct spline count on the disc itself that matches the spline count on your tranny input shaft (10 or 26), and a starter that matches your flywheel.

Is there a reference that details the spline count for stock tansmissions?

Looks like the majority of small blocks and big blocks ran a 1-1/8" 10 spline input shaft. i am not sure which vettes ran the 26 spline. Hopefully someone else will jump in here and enlighten us.

AFAIK There are only two input splines ever used in Vintage V8 Corvettes. Coarse 10 and fine 26.

I don't think the fine spline came out until around 70' or so.
