Default Looking For My First '61

VIN 106708, Jewel blue/blue, two tops, 270 HP (2-4bbl.), 3:36 Posi, metallic brakes and a 3-speed. Last known whereabouts was Albuquerque, New Mexico where the car was traded in on a '64 GTO at the local Pontiac dealer. Any information would be appreciated although I realize this is a "cold case."

I would find a sympathetic police officer and see if he can run a search for the car as if he stopped it for a traffic stop. He should be able to find out who owns the car and his address. From there you should be able to find the owner's phone number on the web.

I saw a very similar car at the NCRS meet in Albuquerque about 5 years ago. Keep digging. It could be the same car. Very nice. The NCRS Prez Dan Pyzel has been around a long time and may know the car.

I should have worded the above to include the fact that the year the '61 was traded in was '64 or '65. I'm going to try CARFAX and see if that nets anything.

Thanks Bill. I'll ask Dan on Sat at our monthly NCRS meeting.

Carfax will be of no help.

For CarFax you need a 17 digit VIN#. Manufacturers didn't start using 17 digit VIV's till the early 70's.

Carfax only goes back as far as 1981

- The vehicle was manufactured before 1981 when the 17 character VIN was initiated. CARFAX is only able to provide Reports for vehicles manufactured for the North American market since 1981. All 17 characters are required to produce a Report.
Taken from carfax website http://www.carfax.com/cfm/helpcenter_2002.cfm

With this muscle car boom, if it were possible the company would be a blue chip. oWEN
