Sounds like the seller got took and is trying to unload a car without the original motor or any id tags. I'd probably stay away unless I could get it for cheap and rebuild it so I could live with a salvage title of some kind.

Big Block or not that car is going to need a FULL restoration.
There are no trim tags, no title, no good documentation.
He claims the car was silver-blue, but without trim tags ....... How does he really know? (factory overspray, on those original panesl?)
I guess if you have nothing nice to say.....
Keep LOOKING!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Holidays!!!

Can't really see enough on the interior pictures but that 1500 dollar teak wheel looks a lot like the stock plastic one to me from the picture provided.
This looks to be a complete automobile with all the stainless trim around the windows and a body that does not appear to need a great amount of work prior to a paint job. It also has a rusted set of bumpers that will not make rechromable cores, and needs everything redone to it. The cost of a nice quality driver rebuild will cost at least 20K after you purchase it (nice paint ain't cheap) doing most of the labor yourself and you will still have a non original motor car when you are done. (if that matters to you)
I am quite surprised that it has made a bid of over 21K already and hasn't even made the reserve.
Who among us is ready and willing to spend over 41K for a 65 NOM coupe with NO TITLE? Not me.
IMHO the seller should have accepted that 17K offer 10 years go. Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

If you have the ability to come up with 21k-25k for garbage like this, why don't you go down to the bank and get another 10K, and get a car that you can drive home, and enjoy. There are plenty of projects with these cars to keep one plenty busy.
Hobby is one thing, but who enjoys stripping and painting, searching for hard to find parts??
You could by a very nice car for 30K-35K.

No trim or vin tags, no title, NOM and a car in really bad condition needing a total restoration?
RUN AWAY!
As was suggested, go borrow enough money to add to this $21000 and buy a car you can drive while you tinker with it. IMHO this is a POS. It sure sounds like buyers remorse.

He talks like he doesn't know much about the Corvettes but, he's also got two other sales going on for Corvette items. One for a Corvette body in which he says he's he's got lots of other OLD ORIGINAL 1960's corvette stuff that I will be listing. The other's for a frame.

I have to agree with ghostrider20 however, the sale hasn't even reached its reserve!

Its one step above a parts car, I agree how someone could bid $21k for a car that needs a miniimum of $20k then, you still have a car with no VIN or trim tag in very foolish. Sounds like a nice story that needs another ending for the current owner or he is fishing for a sucker.

It's at $21,000! I cannot believe it. A car without a VIN. If this kind of C2 pricing madness keeps up I will be dearly tempted to sell my 1967 (with VIN plate and title) in the spring. Or ship it to Arizona for an auction at say $45,000. Or put it on EBay with the same reserve. Then buy a low-mileage C6.
Can you title a car via the internet? I have never heard of this. When I brought my 1967 to Canada from PA it had to have notarized ownership papers, bill of sale, and US Customs did a computer search on the relevant details. How would that 1966 ever see the road again?

I am finding it hard to beleive that any of those bids are real....who in their right mind would buy a car with NO TITLE....NO VIN NUMBER....in that condition and pay over $21,000 for it? It also has 68-73 rear bumpers in the picture that he is claiming are the front bumpers for that car....it has the standard plastic wheel that he is saying is the "$1500" teak wood wheel, and prob isn't a real BB car. It would take at minimum $15K to $20K ( and thats if you did the work yourself) to make this into a NICE car and then what do you have? A car with at best a state ID tag....whats it going to be worth finished?? These project cars on eBay are just getting CRAZY.

So far I haven't see any Teak wheels go for $1500.00. I would think real seriously about selling my Teak wheel for that price, may not sell it but sure would think about it. By the way, has anyone noticed that this is a 66 coupe and not a 65 as he is trying to present. I don't know who he is talking to but the are filling him full of BS
or he is trying to fill the bidders full of it.

E-bay 1966 Coupe
The seller must not have a clue to what he bought. Purchased it with no vin or trim tag and no title. First thought it was a 1967, then a 1966 and now things its a 1965 because of the "glass". I think its a '66. It has no vents in the coupe body between the door and back glass and it has the '66 seats. The steering wheel is plastic and worth about $200 in it has no cracks. What is going to happen when they find the vin# on the "rock solid frame" and it turns out to have been stolen 30 years ago. Then the $20,000-$25000 is really down the tubes.
