Default Neutral Safety Switch Located on 66 With auto

Since my reverse lights don't work I am trying to find the neutral safety switch, can anyone tell me if its on the column, which if so mine's missing, or is it mounted on the tranny which is a 2 speed powerglide.

Thanks

My '67 CSM shows it on the floor shift under the console.

If it's like my 65 PG, it looks like this. It mounts to the shifter with a screw on each side. The hole in the plate on the switch goes over the little nub on the shifter (red arrows). The tang on the shifter engages the little slot on the switch (pink arrow) to move it when you change gears. The NS switch is the purple wires and the back-up lights are the green and black. Note, that this one has been worked on (or over) by a previous owner. Works fine though.

Good luck

DZ

P.S. Can send you more pics of this job if you need them. Can you handle PowerPoint files?

Default Powerglide NS BU light switch

Mine did not work either. Took the shifter a part. Plastic sliding piece was broken. Could not find a replacement with the normal vendors. Found a complete one nos on EBay. That EBAy has everything.

Default Neutral Safty Switch

My PG has been replaced with a 700R4 trans, and now the safety switch seems to be out of adjustment. Sometimes in Park, I have to tap the shift handle forward in order to start. Also, it will now start in Drive, which is not good. Must be an adjustment, right?
