I have a gemini tach that fits perfectly in my '58. It would fit your 60 as well. The trick is getting it out. See my post in this forum asking for advice. If I make the swap, you can have the gemini cheap. I have a daughter at DAL who could pack it out if you are not in a hurry.

I just went through this (sort of) with my 59 project. I wanted new, white faced analog gauges but most models did not have a tach that would fit the original opening. I found an Autometer model 1398, Arctic White, 3-1/8" tach that will fit in the original hole with no modification. Originally I had the gauges mounted from the back of the gauge cluster but the outside gauges hit the metal support bracket plus I didn't like them sitting so far into the pod cavities. I decided to mount the gauges from the front and the I had to remove a little material from the small gauge holes but the tach will fit without modification to the pod. It is hard to tell from the picture, but the tach and the small gauges are not exactly parallel to the pod. The chrome bezel on the bottom of the tach is just about even with the pod surface. With a little judicious grinding, you could probably make it parallel if you wanted, but I kind of like the gauges pointing up slightly. The top picture below shows the gauges mounted from the rear and the bottom picture shows them mounted from the front.
Another solution is to get a cheap electric tach and fit the guts inside the original tach case. You can use the original face and needle. I did this with my wife's 62 and it works fine. Just be sure to choose a tach with the same sweep as the original. I think the one I used was made by Autogauge and I picked it up on ebay for about $25.
Hope this helps,
Charles
