1965 Vintage Race car.
965 Corvette vintage race car. Club racer from 1968 to mid 70's. Found, restored and race by Gallant racing. I purchased the car in 2013. It has raced 5 times at the Monterey Historics with Andy Porterfield driving it in 2003-2005.
The current engine in the car was built by John Beck at Vintage Hot Rod in Chico, CA. The engine is Monterey legal and has Callies crankshaft and rods and Arias pistons. The carb is a single Holley by Braswell. The engine originally showed 428.5 hp. Since then we have added a better legal Chevy intake manifold, which was worked over by High Velocity Heads and we also added one of their carb spacers.
The car has an Auto Gear M23 transmission and Quartermaster clutch. The engine and transmission have approximately 24 hours on them.
SOLD
New tires and front brake pads were put on for the last CSRG race at Sonoma. The race was red flagged after 3 laps, so the tires and brakes are almost new and their is gas in the tank.
Some spares including a 4:30 post rear end, 4 extra rims with mounted tires and some misc. stuff.
We only race two events per year the last 3 years, with usually 2 racers per event. With a 70plus year old driver(me) with had a first, several seconds and thirds.
The car has been reliable, and one of the fastest Group 3 cars in CSRG.
Spares include 4 extra wheels and mounted tires, extra rear end and other parts.
$52,000 for car and spares, $56,000 with Featherlite trailer.
