I think off road spec engines were motors not really intended for the street—-like the L88 and ZL1– they ran better on race fuel— which is what I run for my L88 spec L72.

he knows what he has, and showed you a photo, with a price.
If you know what it is, and want it, there it is.
If you don't know what it is, just move along.
He wasn't talking to you.
easy, peasy

Back in the day there was engine combos that were not “certified”. Thus they were for off road use only, i.e. race track.
