FS - 1965 L79 4-Speed Coupe Silver Pearl Restored w/ Matching Numbers - SF Bay Area
1965 Chevrolet Corvette L79 4-speed Coupe - $49,900
Located in Livermore, CA (SF Bay Area)
The owner is a retired Military / Commercial Airline Pilot who takes exceptional care of his cars, and keeps his fun/sports cars in turnkey, "ready to go" condition. The owner has spent the past 5 years restoring / sorting this car, and is reluctantly selling it so he can get a more suitable 4-seater fun car to drive his grandchildren around in.
The reason the owner is not listing the car himself is that he is a bit older and he's not skilled at using the internet, uploading photos, responding to private messages, etc. Since I'm facilitating the sale (and I've owned 5 Corvettes personally) I'm assisting with all pre-sale / post sale / dispute resolution (if any). For any out of state buyers, we can store the car in a secure warehouse and I can coordinate with the shipping logistics. Our goal is to have this be a transparent / fair deal for all parties involved.
This Corvette has been in Central / Northern California it's entire life. The exterior received a $13K repaint in the correct Silver Pearl in 2017, and is in excellent condition. The door jambs were left unpainted for originality purposes - you can still see the brush marks on the weatherstrip adhesive. The chrome bumpers are original and in very good condition, but show slight hazing and oxidation. The interior is in very nice condition – the leather seats are in great condition, with the driver’s seat showing a few signs of wear and light creasing. The gauges, interior lights, flip up lights and power antenna all work properly.
The Corvette starts with no issues or smoking, and settles easily into a steady, smooth, idle. The engine revs willingly, with plenty of power and a great induction/exhaust sound. The suspension is solid and tight, the steering is direct with no wandering, the brakes stop the car firmly with no pulling, and the transmission shifts smoothly.
Recent service to make this a turnkey driver includes:
I have over 100 detailed photos and several videos of the car, including a cold start video. Please send me a PM for any questions or inquiries. Not interested in any trades unless it's a mint / low miles 1995 Porsche 993 Cab with manual transmission.

Hi Everyone,
The new owner of the '65 drove away with the car this afternoon, so the car is officially sold. Thanks for all the inquiries here on CF. I spoke to a few very nice enthusiasts across the country as part of the sales process.
Please stay safe and healthy, and I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of Corvette owners out on the road when the coast is clear!
