F/S '65 roadster red/black with a/c $37,000
I have listed my ’65 roadster at $37,000 for a quick sale. This car was purported to me to be (and I believe it to be) an original L76 roadster with a/c. The car is an original rally red car, but with a red interior. The car currently has a strong NOM 350 in it, but a ”correct” dated block with a clean pad goes with the car. This block has a chip in it and MAY or MAY NOT be useable. The car is very strong mechanically, and has a completely rust free frame, with newer calipers, front end, trailing arms, gas tank, and wiring harness. While some of the original a/c components are still in place, some have been removed. I added sidepipes to the car and was unhappy with the noise, so I reinstalled the undercar exhaust. The sidepipes go with the car, as does the correct exhaust panel for the pipes. I also have a hardtop (currently laguna blue) that goes with the car (needing restoration). The car currently has a wide ratio transmission in it, with a (open?) 3.31 rear. The original VIN stamped close ratio transmission( in great shape) goes with the car.
The worst feature about the car is the terrible fitment between the quarters and exhaust panel, where it appears that Helen Keller fitted the panels. This gap can be removed with some glasswork on the exhaust panel, but nonetheless is currently an obvious flaw.
I am interested in an honest sale, and will be happy to provide additional photos or whatever else I can to any seriously interested party. The car is located in western Connecticut. Please PM me with any requests.

Hard to tell from inter web pics, but that looks like a sharp car for the money.

If it had been for sale when I was shopping, I know I would have been interested.

I never tried tracing the origin of the car back to the dealer. I know it's been here in Connecticut since at least the eighties. Nothing on or in the car to indicate that it's a Texas car, although looking at the frame it wouldn't shock me. If you think you have any information on it though, I'm all ears.

In '68 I bought a red, red convertible. White soft top with a black vinyl hardtop. Obviously from the '67 year. It was a 350 hp., with a close ratio 4-speed, posi, radio, heater and A/C. No other power options.
I don't think I have any paperwork on the car. I have not even been able to find anything with a VIN on it.
Red, red cars optioned that way are not too common. I thought you might have traced the owner history.
I can tell you this. It would give a very nice loud "chirp" shifting from 3rd. to 4th. at 110 mph.
Thanks,
Mike

Safety Car
Two good friends inspected the car this week. It is an excellent value, and if a person wants to take it back to NCRS standards, it would make a worthy project. Only 136 air conditioned convertibles were made in 1965 with the 365hp engine. Some great original examples have sold for over $90,000 since 2007.
It is a great car today to drive and enjoy. Not every Corvette is a ''show car''. If fact, those that are driven are the most fun. That's why I went racing.
