what do you think?
I am looking at this car this weekend. Seller is flexible with price, closer to 40K. Any thoughts out there? I lost the 66 yellow vert by being too indecisive. I am still beating myself up about that. Oh well.

Burning Brakes
Decent looking car from the pictures, just need to check the usual spots for rust, if there are no rust issues I would think between $40 and $45 in this market.

Still sounds like alot of money for a flared out car.....IMO...unless you like them and are not going to replace them, But if you are your prob. minimum $2 grand to do the work then whatever for painting the whole car because you know you will never get it to match.

From the angles of the pictures posted, I did not even notice the wheel flairs. They seem very suttle but may look more prominent in person. Is this a big negative for this car?

Yes..... No offense, but if you didn't even realize it had flares don't you think you need to have someone that knows these cars look at it with you......There are alot of people around that charge a couple hundred bucks to look at these cars with you and can save you a ton of money and headaches down the road.IMO.....Please do not take offense to this, I am just trying to help.

Thank you for your concern, I would never buy a C-2 without having someone smarter then me look at it. This is one of the reasons I love this site. We all look out for eachother!

Nice car...nice price...no you are not going to resell it for 80k down the road, but you will have a lot of fun driving it down the road...if you like it, buy it, just never forget it's a 44 year old car and a lot of things can happen in 44 years...good luck, Nick

Somewhat, yes. The phrase " # matching " has several different definitions, but normally someone looking to buy a somewhat original car doesn't want flares. And probably most don't like flares even on a nom. Not enough info to place a value. But if you like it and you are not buying it as a financial investment, get an expert to check it out and if no issues - follow sixtsvn's advice. Good luck

Rock,
For what its worth, that car has been for sale for a very long time. I remember seeing those pics (especially the one with the 2 white boxes blocking something) in the Spring. It could be that its a new owner using the same pics, or the guy took it off the market for a while, or it hasnt sold for a reason.
