Default Price Question on a 1967

This is my uncles car, he is the original owner and currenty the car is NOT for sale (sorry)

I told him I would post to get some opinions on what its worth.

Again he is the original owner

1967 convertible with hard top
4spd
427 tri power 400hp
Yellow with black stinger hood
Black interior
Side pipes
The car has never been in the rain EVER and has always been stored in a heated garage.

18,600 original miles
Never resotred
All documentation including the original check my grandfather wrote to pay for the car.

The only thing on the car not original are the back tires and the battery. The front tires are the originals and in good shape. He has not driven it in about 15 years. It would probably need some gaskets replaced and the brakes gone over but other then that it really needs nothing. The paint is flawless. I dont have all the options but I think it may AC.

Thanks for the assitance.

Good advice, are you looking to get it appraised, or just trying to get an idea of the value.

Good guess given the circumstances.

I don't know - considering it dosen't have the original back tires and the battery's a replacement you may find some tire kickers looking for a quick deal .......

holly cow, original owner, 18,600 in a heated garage and it's all original. ..........damn man, get it appraised for sure.

I'm no C-2 expert but this could be a Bloomington survivor and an NCRS bowtie car. Remember guys it's only "Original" once! I'm sitting here wondering myself, how many cars like this still remain? (Not many). Knowing what little I do about C-2s I would put this car at $200-250K. Now I know that I might earn a bit of slack out of some of you folks for this far-fetched guess, but lets get real. If you throw one out there like this even with the market being down you will still catch some pretty big fish! When the big deep pockets see one of this caliber they perk up and you might be supprised at what a 1 owner all original ac car might sell for. Anyone on the forum can give .02cents worth with an estimated value but what a car like this would actualy sell for might shock us all. This car has everything going for it, 1967 convertible, both tops, 427/400hp Sunfire Yellow, black interior, black stinger, side exhuast, ac, 18,600 original miles, un-molested un-touched, all documentation, and best of all...ONE owner! Does it really get any better than this? can you really put a dollar amount on this one? I don't know guys...Thanks "Caterpillar" for starting this thread and please let us know what becomes of this car.

My .02 cents,
ZADSPAL

I agree with the $200K-$250K estimate. While the color is a slight detractor, the low mileage, the documentation, the 1 owner status, the originality, and the proported condition all together describe a "benchmark" car (and a potential 400HP/AC convertible at that). Unless not described well, there is no way this is only $125K to $175K.

What is it insured for?

Doesn't your insurance company require an appraisal?

That at least would give you a ball park figure.

I would say both estimates are dead on. The post says that he thinks it has AC. That is the defining factor in price differences of the two.

I will give free appraisal, if I get first chance to buy... !!! Really, I think value could go very high if car has all the right stuff.

I do agree that AC would add to the value of the car but the status of this car is what brings the value up so much. I don't think that AC would make near $100K difference in price. This is a hard one to figure. There is not much to compare this to. I can't help but wonder if this car will ever be on the market? Will we ever see any photos of it? I do hope this isn't like the 53/54 barn find legal question posted here on the forum! I hope someone follows through and lets us know more about the car. This is certainly an interesting thread.

Proteam sold a 67 435 conv. with 15,000 mi at the BG auction. It was all original also. I think it sold for 126,000. Why would this Corvette be worth that much more. I wish it would I have 400 AIR coupe BG GOLD that is still titled in the original owners name.

I agree a real world price might be $125-175k. That's a reasonable range if the car is as described.

Good comments..

The only downfall to the car is the fact it hasnt beed driven in so long that it will need some work to get it back on the road.
