Vette Hound full of "Scams"!!!!
There are many ads on the Vette Hound site that are obviously "scams" just like on e-bay. Either the advertisers are criminals or there's a lot of money to be made these days in the classis car business....Maybe I'll quit my day job!!!! I wish there was some way to prosecute and get these illegitimate ads out and away from our hobby
Check this steal of a deal out:
http://www.vettehound.com/geo/classi...php?a=2&b=2559
I'll take ten at that price !!!

These scams are all over the place. Some are used to just get you to call though. The real price is way different than the advertised price. Some are real cars for sale but many are just scams. It's like the old saying, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true. Nobody is going to give anybody anything for almost free or even half the value. I have been looking for a great deal for a long time and guess what, I'm still looking.

Scams
You will see on Ebay that it will be a restricted auction most of the times. It will direct you to a Yahoo or MSN account. They are trying to con you by having you write a check or steal your identity. Its 2005 guys NO ONE is going to sell these cars for the prices listed. If they get one person to send them anything, they will be ahead of the game. The internet has created LOADS of thieves, but always beware.Your not going to get a LOADED #1 69 427 for 6800 bucks, that should be your first idea something is wrong. Hope nobody gets burnt,I report the add as soon as I see it and on Ebay its gone within hours, other site take longer.

Can you prove it's a scam instead of a typo? If you look at the details of this add on Vette Hound you'll see that the year is a 1693 Corvette.

I'll e-mail about the $12,000 price and see what happens.

I just looked at e-bay (12:54 AM EST Sunday the 23rd) and did a search on 1961 Corvettes. I could not find the car you mentioned. If it was a scam it may have been reported and pulled.
Instead I found a beautiful blue 61 just 15 miles away from my house, and I don't have the cash to buy it!!!

Want to get even with some of these scammers. Or have a laugh or two at their expense?
I stumbled on this site where people torment and cost these scammers lots of grief and even $$$
thescambaiter.com
Some photos are NOT work safe (usually there are warnings). And strong language may be present.
Autotrader.com is now almost useless because of these vermin.

The disgusting part of these ad's are the sites. You can email EBay and (sometimes) they will act on it, but I have emailed some of these other sites, Vette Hound being one of them, and you never hear anything back and the ad stays in place. The caveat "Buyer Beware" never had more meaning than it does today. Business report this AM states that internet sales are suffering due to scams and theft identity. It's no wonder to me. We'd all be better off with ZERO credit.

Unfortunately, it looks like someone lost some cash on this one.

57$k for this ?!? I could have sold my 67 for 70$k, if this is the 57$k benchmark - which it isn't...and what the h-ll is so rare about a 4-speed in a 67 vette.
