Default C-5 rims on my C-6

I have a 2005 Z-51 that I will be using for open track days and some schools. I'm thinking about using C-5 18" x9.5 rims all around. They fit and clear the brakes front and rear. I have the rims and the tires are so much cheeper. Am I missing somthing, is there somthing I'm not think about ? If this will work what size tires should I run? they will only be used on the track. Thanks

I'm interested in the same question. Specifically - has anyone put C5 Z06 rims on a C6? Any fitment issues?

not to change the subject, but am I the only one that finds it ironic that the C5 guys use C4 rims and the C6 guys are now trying to use C5 rims.

9.5 in the rear of a C6 will not be the best setup. You have a bunch of power to get down.

go figure

Gee3 most of us use 18x11 f and 18x 12 r or 18x10f and 18x11 rear. The 18x9.5 maybe too small.

From what I understand the front offset would be pretty close.
+54 for Z06 vs +56 for the stock C6
Now the rears are going to be a little different.
+58 for the Z06 and +79 for the C6
I'm guessing that with the extra 1/2 inch and with less offset of the Z06 wheels, they will have a clearance issue with the fender.
You could try it bu I would let the car down very gently

O.K I didn't read the post completly, the stock non-Z06 rears 18x9.5 have an offset of +65 and being a half an inch narrower than the C6 wheels they will probably be pretty close. You might be better off using the stock C6 rears with the 18x9.5's up front, good luck finding matching tire sets though.

I also have a Z51 C6. Today, I tried on wheels and tires from a friend's 2003 ZO6, and they fit. Even the 17" fronts cleared the C6 Z51 rotors. The rears were the ZO6 stock 18X10.5 wheels, with 295/35 Toyos mounted. They also fit fine. In order to stay close the OE outside diameter, I am planning on using four of the stock rear 18X10.5 wheels, with 265/35 fronts, and 295/35 rears. The one thing we did not do, was try the 10.5" wheel on the C6 front, which I want to do before ordering wheels, just to be sure of no rubbing. At the time, my concern was with the rotor clearance in the front, and with the 17" wheel working, I didn't even try the wider wheel for clearance in turning. My runflats are about gone after 5K miles, so I need to figure something out soon!

Ed, you can come back tomorrow if you want to try the rear wheel on the front For those asking, here are a couple of pics.

Tight, but even 3mm between caliper and wheel is more than sufficient. On my M5, I have 1-2mm of clearance between the tire and shock, and I never have any problems. This is a more precision fit than that.
