Also, what width rims with what size tires? I think using 305/30/18's all around would make it easier and may help handling. Do you guys agree or should I stick with a staggered setup? The car will be used 4 times a year on the track with r compound tires on these rims. Thanks to all those with vast amounts of track time who contribute to this forum. I think I will have my car setup pretty good having never run a C5 before with just the info from you guys.

I use 18 in in all four corners for both street and track

street are 18x10 rims with 18x275-35 Mich PS f and rear are 18-11 1/2 with 18x335-30 Mich PS

track are 18x11 rims with 18x315-35 GY or 18x-285-30 Hoosiers front and rear are 18x12 rim with 18x315-35 GY or 18x335-30 Hoosiers.

I dont think the stagared set up is nesscessary. The T-1 races use 17 in in all four corners and they seam to get around quite fast.

If you get 18, rims and dicide in the future that you want to run some R480 tires or non DOT tires you will be all set. If you get the 17' rims and then want some stickies you will have to get some 18'ers.

CCW with 18 x 12 will let you run a vast amount of tires including some real slicks as said above in 380 or 480 GY compounds. Same on both ends (all 4).

The stagger size is just for looks. The SCCA racers seem to think 17's all around is the setup. Whats works for them? cost? handling? better gearing?

I always thought the only advantage to 18's all around was you could run bigger front rotors.

Why is 18 in front better than 17 in back?
