Default Farmer World Challenge Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

METRIC CHEMICAL MOTORSPORTS WELCOMES POLK AUDIO AS MARKETING PARTNER

ALBEMARLE, NC. (July 4, 2003) – Polk Audio to support Metric Chemical Motorsports SPEED GT Corvette, driven by David Farmer

Metric Motorsports announces financial support from audio manufacturer Polk Audio. “The series competition has really picked up this season, and Polk Audio’s backing will help keep us on track for a strong finish to the season,” said David Farmer, VP of Metric Chemical and driver of the #35 SPEED GT Corvette. “I’ve had Polk speakers in my home for several years now, so I’m especially excited to have Polk Audio back on board in 2003.” “They build great products, and I’m thrilled to carry the Polk name!”

Polk Audio (http://www.polkaudio.com/), since 1972, has found success by focusing on home loudspeakers with an emphasis on quality and affordability. Today, Polk Audio is one of the world's most successful brands of high quality home, car and multimedia loudspeakers. Polk Audio's tradition of thorough R&D has yielded over 45 patents for their loudspeaker technology and performance, and has helped built its’ reputation as "The Speaker Specialists." Polk Audio products can be purchased nationwide at Circuit City and most home-theater, home-audio, and car-audio retailers.

“I've got a lot of respect for someone who does their own work and is competitive on a shoestring budget,” says Mattew Polk, co-founder and CEO of Polk Audio says. “David’s dedication to this effort is really impressive”. Polk will be showcasing their POLK-MOMO line of automotive speaker systems through their partnership with Metric Motorsports.

The Metric Chemical Motorsports Corvette, driven by David Farmer, is currently 7th in the drivers’ points’ championship of the SCCA SPEED GT Series, and is a prior race winner and track record holder in the series. David won the 2002 Mosport GT round, and is one of a very few series winners driving a US production car.

Congrats, Dave! Does this mean you'll be "bumping" around the track now?

Seriously, I'm happy to hear that you'll still be out there!

That's great news David! Will you be at the Sonoma Gran Prix on 7/27?

Maybe you can get Polk to introduce some specialized C5 components (like a stealth sub for the rear compartment).

No plans on the "neon" and "boom", but if it will bring them back next year, I'll try anything!

Yes, but my "contact" there left. I had all but given up on getting them back, but finally worked out a package for them. I think SCCA did me a great favor by putting 3 shots of my car on the new "fan guide," as Polk-Momo was clear in every shot.
