Anyone flip Yoko Advan A052 tires on the rim?
So, I'm around +70 runs in on my set of Yokohama Advan A052 for this autocross season. Even with max neg camber that I can get, on the rear tires I'm seeing outside edge wear significantly higher than inside edge wear.
This is likely due to A) the great grip at Grissom, with its sandpaper like surface, and B) I drive like a moron.
A052s are marked "inside" and "outside" on each side. Anyone actually cut one of these open to see if there is a construction/strength/thickness difference to the sidewalls on one side vs the other?
Anyone try flipping them on the rim to increase usable life? { Meaning, put the inside on the rim's outside, to start using the less worn surface.} Did it work & feel like new, or at least acceptable? Or is that outside sidewall on the outside for a strength/thickness reason?
If the directional nature is just due to tread path.....there's no appreciable tread height on mine anymore, so screw that reason.

I flipped mine on the spec racer all the time ... they were dedicated track tires. They only issue will be "maybe" a loss of grip on a wet surface, otherwise not noticeable at all. Great tires.

it seems to me that the side wall on the outside is harder than the inside
what are your negatives? I wonder if for me it will be the same at -3° 30 minutes.

I got 135 runs on my previous set. Lots of runs in Peru but probably not as many as you. They were close to cording but probably have one more event left. How much camber do you have? Mine wore the very outside edge the most but are very even everywhere else.

This is the nature of the A052. I've seen people get less than 30 runs on them before cording/delamination... usually on front heavy sedans with limited camber. They are without a doubt the fastest 200tw tire. You gotta pay to play.
Given the assymetrical design of the tread pattern, probably not ideal to flip them... but I've flipped other brands of symmetrical 200tw tires with no negative effects. YMMV.

I see the only difference in the tread pattern is the outer groove on the official 'outside' side is narrower. I'd flip them in a heartbeat for autocrossing because you can check them for every 60 seconds or so of use. I am not so sure for HPDE though.

I am running the fronts flipped as the outsides were worn bad and I’m only running -2* camber. Got them as take offs to try, so don’t know if they feel any different than normal though feel fine.
