Default Has anyone made their own adjustable end links

I can tell from manufacturer's websites they're basically just heim joints from McMaster or something. Anyone have the sizes or part numbers they used?

I think good non-bulk buy heim joints would be quite pricey. I bought a cheap brand of adj end links that started with S, had to also buy longer bolts from Ace... but total was WAY less than others advertised. And have held up 5 yrs >60 track days. No noise and still very tight.

These work great: QA1 —> https://www.qa1.net/assets/uploads/d...ies_Tables.pdf

Built mine about a year ago, trying to find my order to give you P/N’s...found them, ordered from Summit Racing:

I make my own for ferraris because there is no aftermarket for them. You really only need 1 front 1 rear. You scale car dusconnected the connect fjxed side at rideheight then add the adjustable link to a passive position for zero preload

I made them for the S2000 I used to own with parts from McMaster-Carr. Worked great, reasonable priced, quiet, durable.

Last time I priced this stuff out in a decent rod end, each rod end was around $20-30. At 8 rod ends that's Around $200 not counting bolts/nuts/spacers needed unless you go with a rod end with a built in threaded shaft.

Prices now for those put you at $160 + bolts/nuts/washers/spacers if needed. Saves a little coin since bolts/nuts/washers are cheap.

From Strano you can get Whiteline full set for $240 or aFe full set for $221.

Also, those QA1 ends are about $30 total cheaper on Speedway Motors and free shipping.

Oh, sweet. I'll just order those. I found aFe for $196 on amazon and with 5% off from my card, it's about $180 shipped.

Steinjager is only about $120 if you shop around. You can use standard 1/2” Heims, and get can tubing at Lowe’s and cut it down. GM sold 1/2 rod ends with their T1 bars even though OEM is metric

Yes, I made them for my front and rear heim joint endlinks for my C4. Very easy to do. Take a piece of round stock drill out the center to the desired size and cut left hand threads on one end and right hand on the other. Get left and right hand threaded nuts and then just screw in left and right hand heim joints (preferrably tefflon lined). If you want to get fancy, use a mill/grinder to make a spot for your wrench to grip the round stock, powder coat the round stock and put rubber dust boots from 'seal it' over the heim joints. Couldn't be simpler to make a good quality adjustable heim joint endlink.

You can also get threaded tube ends like these from QA1 in both right and left hand threads. Maybe not needed on a C7 but nice for making longer links. I find that tapping threads to 1 inch + depth is not a lot of fun so welding a couple of these together w/ or w/o any tube is a lot easier.
