Remflex are awesome gaskets! They seal up anything (sealed up the rusty headers on my wife's camaro)

Asking as I'm in a similar position with my 1986 car, and that's what I've been thinking about quite a bit, although it would also be the aero package for me, and I have some large 1/8 and 3/16 alloy plates to utilize.

Also, have you considered mounting a dry sump tank in the back right rear portion? Curious about your thoughts... it's been weighing on my mind.
I was going to build out the aluminum plates in addition to the steel support. The steel support bars are more to secure the front bumper and provide support IMO. I think the bars in conjunction with multiple aluminum plates to build a structural duct is a great idea and one I intend to continue with.

The tank in the rear I might do, I just would need a lot more hose. I have a spot on the front where I think I can make a 2.5 gallon 6 inch diameter tank fit. This weekend I want to take some more measurements and begin mocking it up (wife says she will spring for the oil reservoir).

I was looking at where the heater blower goes… would need to go past the plastic fire wall a few inches so that’s some extra fab work, and some groups don’t allow such modification of the firewall. (I have a front half of a car to mock it up first, perhaps use it as a run stand.). Another/better option would be right rear next to a shorter fuel tank… I think hoses would be the easy part. Need to figure it out.

Thats where I'm looking to install it. I already have a heavily customized aluminum firewall to give more space (some pictures above)

Yes love these custom build threads. I wonder how that C4 ZR1 with very long thread is doing.

I have a new idea, didn’t realize how much room there is (not even close with the door installed)… I may modify it a little bit for more space, and build a shallow box on top for an enclosure.

ZF Doc just dropped off the rear pan from a scrap 1993 car… what’s the wasted space underneath forward of the box, it doesn’t make sense to me.

Dia 9.5” at edges of flange and total height around 16” to the fill cap.

Updates:

Musclerods headers installed and worked

35mm front sway bar installed

Talking to RBD Racing in VA to handle remaining sheet metal work (tubular front frame, splitter, radiator mounts, shrouds, belly pan)

I should have pictures this weekend

Dropped the car off to RBD racing on Friday. Rick is chopping the front end off and making a tubular one that bolts on. He will also build the splitter and all duct work to and from radiator with hood pin mounts for the hood to finally be pinned. Other stuff he's working on there: brake lines, reinforced rear spoiler mounts, maybe the lexan
