NAPA Rotor explode C6 Z06
I rarely post, but I thought I would share information on equipment failure a friend experienced.
NAPA one piece React 1 Rotor failure. Less than one day on the rotors. Exiting Thunder Valley at Mid Ohio end of braking zone rotor failure. Luckily no damage to car or anyone with plenty of run off in grass heading into Carousel.
Lesson learned no more buying cheap rotors marketed to be performance rotors.

Melting Slicks
I had that happen at the track in an ABS car, the biggest problem is the ABS freaks out because one rotor is now locked and 3 are spinning - effectively you end up with brake failure !

Those are made by Raybestos. Wow, thats a crazy failure. Luckily no one got hurt. I havent had an OEM rotor fail on me yet I'm seeing more failures on these aftermarket ones. Must be that Chinese iron.

That's very odd for this to happen but have you contacted raybestos about this?
Guess I will stick with centric solid rotors or AcDelco.
I'm sure these was a freak failure but can't say anything wrong about raybestos, Stuff happens but when it comes to rotors well I can't risk it especially on the streets.

I believe it just depends on who is the supplier for the manufacturer. Sometimes they try to save a couple dollars and have components like this made a bit more cheaply and stuff like this is sometimes the result.

I wish I would have seen this..
I also experienced a failure but unfortunately I took some damage when I passed through a fence
As you can see.. the same rotor, from NAPA
DO NOT USE THEM. REPLACE IMMEDIATELY.

I tried the cheap rotor route with my track Mustang with both Napa and Oreilly's because of the "lifetime" warranty. Neither made it more than one track day before cracking all the way to the edge. Thankfully they didn't come apart like the catastrophic failure above. The least expensive rotors that I've found they seemed to hold up were the Centric High Carbon versions. I now run the AP Racing two piece J hooks on both the Vette and Viper now.
Napa, O'reilly, etc that offer a lifetime warranty are usually going through a low bidder and the rotors may have significant metallurgy differences between each container load.

If you're asking me about the cracks going to the edge of the rim, yes definitely could feel and almost hear it every time the crack passed through the rotor. Very pronounced.
Luckily I've never had a rotor break off the center hub....I'm thinking that there is no warning which is scary.
