ECR is really gentle on tires. Brakes and engine, not so much. I can probably get 4 days out of my Cup2 tires there running 1:57-158 all day long, which is pretty fast there.
I run 315's in the front on my 18's without any problems.

How often do you go? I got to wait till it cools off before I go again. Also looks like I'll probably need new pads before the next event. For me the OEM pads are probably fine but I'm considering the Power Stop Track Days. Any comments on that subject?

Hey there, just saw your post. Troy was my instructor (E36 M3 Supercharged). I assume you have way more grip than me with 315's on the front

Get real track pads. It's 650hp car that weighs north of 3500lbs on sticky tires.

Does anyone know if the factory Z06 brake cooling ducts will work with 18” wheels? Since the ducts attach to the lower control arm, I’m concerned about clearance. Waiting for the car to be built, so I can’t just run to the garage and measure

They rub at full lock (18x11 front) but work otherwise. The wheel blocker ring does not work.

19's are doable but economically 18" tires are substantially cheaper. I have a set of F14's coming and they were under $1600. I went with 18x11/12 though.
Glad to hear the track cooling ducts clear, eye balling it up I figured it would be fine.

19" wheels will be heavier, more expensive, and force you into using more expensive tires -- and reduce selection of tires. Some people prefer the look of 19s since the car has such big wheel wells, and because it shows off the brakes a little bit better.

The old track standby used to be to run C5Z06 Speedline rear wheels in 18 x 10.5 at all four corners. Will this work with a C7 Grand Sport with stock Brembo iron brakes? This would much cheaper than most of these other options. As a C7GS owner, I'd like to use this option if the wheels would fit. I would think you could run 315-30-18s square all around, or maybe 295/315s f/r. There are lots of tire options in 315-30-18 size.
Thoughts?
PS: I did some tire research. If you ran the C5Z06 wheels f/r, you could fit Yoko Advan A052s in 295-30-18 front, 315-30-18 rear. Both can fit a 10.5 inch wheel. The fronts are 25.1 inch dia, 11.2 inch tread width. Rears are 25.6 inch dia, 12 inch tread width. The stock PSSs are 11.3 in wide, 25.8 dia, and 13 in wide, 26.6 in dia, f/r for comparison. You keep some stagger for ABS purposes with the Advans.

for the first year i raced some OE wheels repro 18 X 10.5.(ie chinease knock offs) ran them for over a year on a VERY rough high speed track, jumping curbs every lap. never had a single issue. $165 a wheel

i also ran another/different set on my Camaro for 2 years prior to that without issue.
most that knock chinease repro wheels have every actually tracked a set. and have the budget for much nicer forged wheels. i still run the occationally at autocrosses.
with that being said i now run Forgestar wheels. ONLY because i wanted to switched to a staggered setup (12" rear for 335s) ,my nose heavy camaro LOVED the square setup. but the balanced vettes was too oversteery, i had to be very carefull on exit with power and it was costing me time. i paid $1250 total on a black friday special. CF5 18x11 and 18x12. waited 3 months to have them made.

Are "rotary forged" wheels like Forgestar wheels strong and durable enough for track duty? It has been mentioned several times here that you do not want to go cheap and compromise safety. Does rotary forging allow you to have your cake and ear it, too?

forgestars are a step up in strength, cost, and a step down in weight.
Forgelines are another step up in strength, cost, and down in weight.
ANY wheel can fail. factory cast, forgestars, or forgelines. the number of failures across the country can be counted on a hand or two. as you go up the price ladder you just need less fingers.
and most of those are due to improper install or abuse. ie loose lugs or side impact.
again cheap ol factory wheels are put the the test and survive TONS of track days.
my suggestion is always, research, listen, common sense, and decide whats best for YOU.
