Upper control arm washers
Is it legal to run with none in scca street class?

It seems pretty clear cut...
The rule was written for the C4 as those came with spacers and shims - the shims were the part intended by the factory for alignment adjustment; not the control arm spacers. The equivalent to removing the spacers on a C4 would be modifying/milling down the upper C5/C6 dogbones to get more camber.
C5s and C6s only get shims (which look like washers); they are adjusted at the factory and even the dealership as part of a normal alignment. There is no set number for any given car, and again this can change any time they do an alignment as part of your factory approved service.
Recap: C4s have shims & spacers, while the C5/C6 just get shims, thereby making the above rule a moot point of discussion on 1997+ vettes
