The R888Rs run slightly wider than the R888s I removed.
Whenever I work on my brakes (like all the time!) I always wash my rims while off. With the same size tire I could not lay down my fronts on the driveway with out the metal rim hitting the concrete. With the R888R in the exact same size, no such issue, all rubber.
Also I drove with them for the first time today up to about 60 and heard no unusual noises at all at 35 psi (a bit high I know). They are certainly quieter than any hybrid cars high efficiency tires, those are horribly noisy.

I'm heading to the track tomorrow. I'll report back on how the R888R's feel/respond.

I would be interested in your report Bluefire. Getting ready to buy a second set of tires as backup to my NT01 and really want to try the R888R.
By the way, is Quickshift going to link me to where he says I can get a set of new R888R in C6Z sizes for $696.98? I would really love for him to do this so I can immediately buy them. Quickshift??!?

i I stopped visiting the thread since I wanted to avoid arguing. I just quoted the first sets I could find off EBay, so you should be able to find them there as well. However, I didn't check to see where they were shipping from. I'm sure you've done the homework and found what works for you. Good luck!

I'm not arguing. You initiated this by claiming I was incorrect, then quoting a price that is unsupported by fact or research or anything for that matter. If this total price you claim ($696.98) for the sizes you stated (my sizes) for the tires you referenced (R888R) does exist somewhere, please quote it with a link and prove me wrong. I honestly hope you do as I would love to buy these tires at this price. I will gladly and freely admit you were right. If not, just say you were wrong and life goes on.

You might be right on one thing though, sticking with my trusty and cheaper NT01. Still interested in feedback from Bluefire on the R888R and others though as I really want to try them.

Haha right! And I did check. 30 seconds after you posted about it as I was on the forums. No such thing, anywhere. Never was. It's cool though.

From everything I've heard, the NT01 is the better tire anyway. I have the R888 on one of my ZO6's and the R888R on the other. First track day coming up in about a month with the R888R's, so I'll be sure to report back for anyone interested.

Fair enough. I have also seen them in the past at lower prices from overseas, but they go very quickly which is probably what happened.
What is your home track? Mine is Watkins Glen. I'll be back there again in a few weeks for 6 days and expect my NT01s to be done somewhere in the middle. I think I will take your advice and grab another set of NT01, but I am very much interested in your feedback on the R888R. Are both your Z06s C6s?

But aren't the NT01s not available in our needed sizes?

I had a great day at the track. I thought the R888R's performed excellently.
I set the initial tire pressure @ 34 psi. (at home ~56 degrees).
I was in the first run group. Ambient temp ~65 degrees. The tires heated up within the first two laps (1st was a yellow flag). During the remainder of the 20 minute session, the tires felt stable in the turn-ins and stuck well on track-out. Two laps from the end my DIC flagged HIGH PRESSURE LR TIRE.
As soon as I parked, I measured the LF=44, RF=42, LR=40, RR=39. I lowered the fronts to 40 psi. The car then sat for 2 hours until my next session.
Second session, ambient temp ~75 degrees. Tires hooked up well. They felt solid and never got higher that 40 psi.
Third session, ambient temp ~87 degrees. More of the same.
I do feel the R888R's "stronger shoulder blocks" in the turns (compared to the R888's). Near the end of my third and last session (I was hot and tired ), I NEVER felt the R888R's get greasy. I definitely did on the R888's, even when they were new.
Conclusion? First, I consider myself as an "8 tenths" driver. I think these are great track tires. Like the R888's, they prefer to be run @ 40 psi. (hot) but, they remain stable when they get there. Buy them. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Great feedback! Thanks. I usually run my NT01 to hot psi of 36 to 37. I usually start at 30 and even have to move lower throughout the day - going down 1-2 psi after each run to maintain them at 37psi. When I get home and check them the next morning they are usually at around ~24-25 psi. Interesting that the R888R likes it so hot like the R888. I have read some guys say otherwise but it sounds like 40psi is working for you. I really want to try these R888R and may grab them next in 19/19 setup.

R888R I'm running 37F/39R, but with NT01s I was 35ish. I'm about 1/2 down on the triangles in the rear, but with NT01s I'd go way down the triangle... really my only reason for higher pressures is my research. Tempted to try lower. They feel good though.

For some reason I thought Toyo's hot air pressure recommendation was 37-38 psi?
